Self-Care is VITAL!

Taking-care-of-yourself-quote_daily-inspiration-2.jpgHow often do you find yourself constantly comprising the time that you set aside to take of yourself in order to fulfill expectations of others? 

OKAY, PLEASE ENVISION ME HOLDING A BIG RED STOP SIGN AND STANDING RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM YOU ARE CURRENTLY SITTING IN. THIS PATTERN HAS GOT TO STOP!

Life gets busy. I get it. Do you think that is ever going to change? I am sorry to break it to you but life is going to always be busy. Between your morning routine and when the sun sets please find a couple of minutes to really reflect on the best ways in which you can take care of YOU. Why do I emphasize this? 

Reason 1 (The only reason I will be providing- so I am not sure why I numbered it but hey! Why not?): Think of it this way – you slept late last night and got only 2 hours of sleep. You wake up in the morning and slowly get out of bed and drag yoruself into work. Your energy is at an all time low and your mood swings are out of this world. Everyone that you come in contact with feels your negative vibe. Now is that your ideal day? 

This is the consequence of a lack of self-care. You are in complete control of setting a positive vibe for your day. So here are a few ways in which you can really contribute to an amazingly amazing and fantastic day in your own life: 

  1. WOSAH: Do you have some time in your day where you get a break from overthinking about 99.999999999999 percent of the things in your life? Let’s say that you don’t. Try to spice it up with some meditation in the morning. Not only does this provide you with some peace of mind but it can help you calm down before you get entangled in the tasks everyone expects you to complete. Okay let me clarify one thing – I am only asking you to take part in this activity for 10 minutes EACH MORNING. 70 Minutes each week. That is all it takes for you to take care of yourself (kind of like a mini daily check-in). You deserve that much! 
  2. TURN THE PAGE: Do you own a book? If not – do you own a Kindle? If not – then you must own something that you can read. A newspaper and magazine do not count because all they promote surrounds primarily gossip and negativity. Reading a book gets your mind going and it also helps with visualizing the day ahead of you. You are feeding your mind with knowledge. Does it get better than that? 
  3. HA HA HA SMILE HA HA HA: Laughing is amazing. I do it almost every second of my day, even when the situation doesn’t call for it. Well, that may not be the best thing to do BUT hey it makes me HAPPY! Life is truly so amazing if you decide to make it so. Why not enjoy it to the fullest while spreading an infinite amount of laughter and smiles! 

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOU! A magical person is not going come into your life, knock on your door, and tell you to take care of yourself. You will need to realize that on your own. Come on…what is stopping you? Go write that book…go work on that project that you are passionate about…go start that blog. Go do what your heart desires because when you are 80 years old and looking back at life you don’t want to say WHAT IF!
