So much is always happening around us, constantly, at all times. Even when you are commuting home or commuting to work, although it may seem as if that is “YOU” time. Is it really?
You try to mute out the world by putting headphones in your ears, but your mind is moving at a 100 miles a minute.
So many different roles, so many different responsibilities, a never-ending list of all that needs to get done. Is vacation really the way to take a “break” from it all? Isn’t vacation a temporary solution, almost like a band-aid approach.
So what is it that you can do to prevent from being pulled in all different directions, and to be as present as possible?
Just…breathe. I am an avid reader, yes I love books. They teach me so much about life and help me understand the meaning of life while reflecting on my own life. My current read defines the importance of just breathing. Assigning five minutes a day to just observing your breath can alone help one become more present.
How crazy is that? Something so simple can help you in such a major way.
Observing your breath makes you realize the following:
1) Life is so simple – You can’t do anything about the past or future. All you can do is live in the present.
2) Life is so beautiful – When you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, the beauty of life becomes even more visible.
3) Life is so deep – Our day-to-day may give off the impression that we are living life on the surface level. Doing simple breathing exercises will help one connect to people and their environment’s on a much deeper level.
Before you close out of this blog post, just try it. Try observing your breath for five minutes and try to block out all other thoughts. Focus on just your breath. It will make such a difference in your life. Tell me how it goes!
Keep smiling 🙂
Sending a lot of positive vibes your way,
