The other day, I saw a sticker on someone’s car that said, “Be Kind.” So why, then, is it so difficult for people to be kind? Yeah, I get it – you’re stressed out about life, and therefore, you react to everything in your life with that stress. Did you ever stop to think that other people may be experiencing their level of stress? Yeah, but then you might ask how being kind will help your stress levels. It won’t, but you won’t feel even more horrible for being mean to others. How often have you forgotten about your stress when you’ve held the door open for someone?
Life, as I see it, is a combination of compassion and empathy. When any of those things are lacking, you will feel even more stressed than you already are. So, let’s return to the original question – why is it so difficult for people to be kind? Although there is no excuse not to be kind, here are the three reasons I can think of:
1- you think everyone else is unkind, and you reflect the same energy to them. So, yeah, like I said, it’s not a valid reason to be unkind.
2- you think you’re stressed out more than anyone else and feel that you almost can be mean to everyone else. So, yeah, like I said, it’s not a valid reason to be unkind.
3- you find fault in everything. Being unkind is embedded in your way of being so yeah i sti don’t think this is a valid reason to be unkind.
In summary, all the reasons you’re unkind, even if not listed here, are invalid. Being kind is not complicated. However, we complicate it as well.
Be kind!
