Have you ever been in a room where there was complete silence? Did that silence speak to you? Isn’t it true that many times a lot is said even without a conversation taking place?
Aneek Chaudhuri is aspiring to portray the issue fo rape through his recent film: White.
The movie films the lives of three women who are raped and the impact this had on their lives.
The first story depicts the life of a woman raped in a factory and her journey of survival.
The second story depicts the difficulty a woman faces in facing her child after rape. The third story is of a married woman who with the help of her husband faces the reality of her rape.
Why did Aneek decide to film this topic?
“Chaudhuri said he didn’t chose rape as a subject. “Rather it has chosen me. Being a filmmaker, I had responsibilities towards the society and in order to do so, I needed to utilize my camera and project the issue. Being a son, a brother, a sister and a father, I always possess this certain insecurity as women are not safe these days. With all those ongoing events, I believe will reach the policy makers and I foresee a change,” said the 26-year-old.”
Aneek wants everyone to watch this film, and for this reason, he chose to do a silent film
Do you think silence can achieve much more of an impact than dialogue?
Sending a lot of positive vibes your way.
